I have had the opportunity to play a bit with the beta version of DabbleDB. I am very impressed with this web tool. Basically DabbleDB is a web based database. Its interface does not feel like I'm working on a web based tool, but more like a desktop application.
Take a look at the Dabble DB screencast video and I think you will get a very good understanding of this tool and how tools such as this are changing how we look at applications and software. I have already made a few little data capture applications for use at my school and plan to use this type of tool to create a tool so that my teachers can enter assessment data and I and support teachers can gain access to it as it is entered. The export features are very exciting including RSS. Once set up, I should be able to subscribe to a teachers Dabble DB application, and receive RSS updates as she enters new student data.
This is a very impressive application, web based or not...
