Just before dismissal on Wednesday I was walking back to the office and noticed the sky. It was one of those rain and sun kind of days. I captured this image. With a little bit of tweaking in Snapseed, I was able to pull out the clouds and redefine them a bit.
No (Printing) Selfies
A sign in Ms. Speer's classroom. Recently we have added an app to our Nexus 7s that allows students to print to the Ricoh copier in our library. Once the kids figured out the printing someone got the idea to print out selfie pictures. The ban on selfies is really a ban on printing selfies. The kids still take lots of pictures, but we have talked with them about being responsible about printing.

The 12 Days of Minecraft
While visiting Mr. Marchyok's classroom I noticed a student working very diligently in his notebook. On closer inspection and discussion I learned that this young man is quite a Minecraft fan. He is working on a song called the 12 Days of Minecraft and plans to record it. I'll try to post a copy when he finishes.

MLK Day at Lewis
This morning over 55 students, parents and staff members came out to work on the school grounds as part of our Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Under the direction of our Garden Coordinator, Kathleen Witter, our volunteers worked to prune trees, clean out our garden beds, and do a general clean up of the school garden and the school grounds in the front of the building. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for their work today and for making this a very memorable Dr. King Day.
